Foster McMasters <br />Metcalf & Eddy or Ohio, Inc. <br /> <br />May 15, 2000 <br />Page 4 of 14 <br />procurement and delivery of the major dewatering centrifuge repair parts in 2001, thereby <br />allowing for the abandonment of thermal conditioning units and the vacuum filtration units. <br />Even though only one complete dewatering centrifuge system is being purchased in 2000, <br />these professional services sha11 reflect a future placement of a second complete dewatering <br />centrifuge system in the SLB. The efforts provided by the electrical distribution and I&C <br />specialists will also be based on two complete dewatering centrifuge systems eventually <br />residing in the SLB. However, the actual installation daze of a second complete dewatering <br />centrifuge system will ultimately be based on the occl.urence of increased plant influent mass <br />loadings from growth within the North Olmsted sanitary sewer system service area. <br />These professional services work shall be based on the technical specifications for cast-in- <br />place concrete pads, piping and conduiting work used during the 1993 State Issue 2 WWTP <br />Improvements. The Ciry will provide a copy of the 1993 State Issue 2 WWTP Improvements <br />technical specifications to the selected proposer by the City for use during these professional <br />services. <br />The terminology used in this RFP is reflected on the drawings from four projects. The base <br />drawings for the SLB are hand drawn record drawings prepared for the 1983 WWTP <br />Improvements. The existing base drawings for the work other than in the SLB include the <br />following three projects: <br />Yard piping and Tunnel A hand drawn record drawings for the 1983 WWTP <br />Improvements, the 1991 Innovative/Alternative (UA) Modifications and the 1992 <br />Natural Gas Line Replacement Project; and <br />2. A partial Tunnel A hand drawn drawing from the bidding documents for the State <br />Issue 2 WWTP Improvements. <br />Attachment 3 to this RFP contains the drawings from each of these four projects that repre- <br />sent the work area described for the initial and final professional services. The Attachment 3 <br />drawings have been assembled in chronological order beginni.ng with the 1983 WWTP <br />Improvements drawings. <br />Attachment 4 includes technical data regarding the two existing Thermal Conditioning <br />Sludge Feed Pumps, the two existing Vacuum Filter Feed Pumps and the future dewatering <br />centrifuge sludge feed flow meters. The two sets of existing feed pumps will be used in the <br />hydraulic analyses included in the Initial Professional Services described below. <br />All report drawings, design drawings and design details sha11 be prepared using a electronic <br />program which is compatible with AutoCAD@ Version 12, the version of AutoCAD@ used
