Managed plans and specifications to relocate the melting area sluice and provide an area to <br />install a 100-ton induction furnace. <br />• Managed an underground storage tank project in Cleveland, Ohio, to remove one 8,000-gallon <br />gasoline tank and three 10,000-gallon oil tanks. <br />• Managed full services to connect industrial process wastewater to the Northeast Ohio Regional <br />Sewer District combined sewer system, including 10,568 feet of 20- and 24-inch sewer and force <br />main, a 4-mgd pumping station, a bar screen, and appurtenances. <br />• Conducted a pilot plant study in Shelbyville, Indiana, to evaluate the Superf'ine wastewater <br />recirculation system used in the fiberglass insularion manufacture process and the potential of <br />recycling wastewater being discharged to the Big Blue River. <br />• Prepared plans and specifications for a 0.50-mgd industrial wastewater treatment plant in Auburn, <br />Indiana. <br />• Participated in a waste treatment survey to locate all storm, sanitary, and process waste sewers, <br />record sewer flow, evaluate chemical composition of composite wastewater samples, and provide <br />design criteria and recommend flow diagram for an industrial wastewater treatment plant prior to <br />discharge to city sewers in New Castle, Indiana. <br />• Prepared plans and specifications for a proposed industrial wastewater treatment system for acid <br />neutralization, cyanide treatment, and BOD reduction prior to discharge to city sewers. <br />• Assisted in the design of heavy metal pretreatment facilities to remove chrome, cadmium, and zinc <br />prior to discharge to the city sewers. <br />Coastal Engineering <br />Managed an investigation of short- and long-term effects of erosion and short- and long-terrn <br />remedies for stabilizing the 100-foot-high shale bluff adjacent to Riverside Drive and overlooking <br />the Rocky River in Lakewood, Ohio. Assessed the availability of participating funds frorn FHWA, <br />Ohio DOT, and Cuyahoga County. <br />Participated in Phase II GDM and plans and specifications for a recreational navigation project for <br />the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct new rubble-mound entrance jetties and an entrance <br />channel into West Harbor near Port Clinton, Ohio. Assisted with nourishment of the adjacent <br />beach, upland disposal of dredged materials, aids to navigation, and fishing access. Prepared plans <br />and specifications in accordance with COE standards. <br />Served as project manager for the restoration of Euclid Beach on Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. <br />Oversaw preliminary investigations, design, and construction engineering for three segmented off- <br />shore breakwaters and beach fill to restore the recreational beach. Managed bathymetric surveys, <br />shoreline mapping, geotechnical investigations, a physical model study, sand inventory and littoral <br />drift analysis, and wave analysis. Designed rubble-mound breakwaters, aids to navigation, existing <br />pier restoration, and beach fill. <br />Managed engineering services associated with the review for approval of 2,110 feet of revetment <br />shoreline protection and a 100-boat marina, including breakwall, docks, bulkheads, and utilities for <br />the village planning commission in Bratenahl, Ohio. <br />
