. I I I
Project Understanding 1-2
4. The centrifugal polymer tanks are planned to be dual contaminant design, similar to the
hypochlorite tanks installation. The photo inserts demonstrate our experience in these
installations.
M&E understands and supports the WWTP initiatives to provide improved treatment at lower
costs. M&E has worked with the City on the following projects to improve operations and
reduce costs:
1. Conversion from gaseous chlorine to liquid sodium hypochloride for wastewater
disinfection.
- Fit improvements into existing building.
- Prepared plans for work done by City employees
Together the WWTP staff & M&E made a difference for the City of North Olmsted.
- Very low installed costs
- Efficient installation, operation and maintenance.
- Improved plant safety.
2. Aeration tank baffle design to implement selector zones in the existing aeration tanks
for improved activated sludge process control, allowing implementation of biological
phosphorus removal.
- Selected innovative baffle material design
- Prepared plans for work done by City employees
Together the WWTP staff & M&E made a difference for the City of North Olmsted.
- Very low installation costs
- Biological treatment replaces chemical addition, saving chemical cost and
reducing metals concentration in plant effluent
- Improved settling reduces WWTP effluent suspended solids discharge
