July 8, 1999 Mr. Paul Deichmann City Engineer City of North Olmstead 5204 Dover Center Road North Olmstead, OH 44070-3129 RE: MODIFIED PROPOSAL FOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN SERVICES/ NORTH OLMSTEAD SKATEPARK 5. The scope of services below may be amended by mutual consent. 6. If a dispute arises between the Consultant and the City regarding the contract for services, the City and Consultant sha11 negotiate in an attempt to resolve the dispute. Should negotiations be unsuccessfull, a mutually acceptable third party may be engaged to mediate the dispute, with expenses equally shared between the City and the Consultant. 7. AII written communications by Consulta.nt shall be directed to the City Engineer. All direction for the design effort shall be rnanaged by the City Engineer. 8. Survey: A xerox copy of previous survey information on the proposed site was transmitted to me prior to my site visit. It appears to accurately depict existing site conditions. I will rely on this information for design purposes, to be verified by your office. If additiona.l survey informatian is needed, a sub-contract will be authorized by your office prior to proceeding with contract documents. 9. All Engineering Department requirements and pertinent information regarding the present conditions on the site and relevant to the proposed design will be transmitted to me prior to work beginning. This proposal assumes no unusual or restrictive public works or engineering design requirements, which would alter the design costs contained herein. lp. The schedule calls for preparation of design and contract bid documents this year, in anticipation of bidding and construction eazly next year. 11. The selected site is the fenced area we visited in the field, fenced on 3 sides, and adjacent to the tot play area, across from the pool. It is approxumately 10,000 s.f. 12. I will supply plan and design sheets, with construction details. T'he City will add the standard cover sheet. All plans will be in Autocadd Version 14. I will also supply concrete and steel specifications, and the bid sheet in Microsoft Word format. The City will be responsible for 0 other documents to complete the bid documents. If City base sheets are necessary, they will be submitted to me prior to contract document preparation, on disc. 13. Rae Anne Thomas should be ad.vised that all communication on the project will be channeled through your office.
