Except at Step 1, decisions shall be renclered in writing at each step of the Grievance <br />Procedure. Each decision shall be transmitted to the Aggrieved Party and his <br />representative, if any. <br />C. A grievance may be filed by any member of the Associarion. Where a group of <br />Association members desire to file a grievance involving a situation affecting more then <br />one member of the Association in a simiiaz matuier, one rnember selected by such group <br />shall process the grievance. Such grievance shall be defined as a group grievance. 'I1ie <br />names of each inember, on behalf of which the grievance is filed, shall be presented on, <br />or appended to, the grievance form and submitted to the Shift Olficer_ The grievance <br />procedure outlined in Section 7.3 shall be usec3 throughout. <br />D. The preparation and processing of Grievances by Employee shall be conducted only <br />during off dury hours, unless agreed to otherwise by the ranking individual authorized <br />and present to hear Grievances, the Shift Officer or designee, or a higher authority to hear <br />the Grievance. <br />E. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as limiting the right of an Employee to <br />request having a Grievance discussed informally with the Fire Chief or his designee and <br />having said matter informa.lly adjusted without intervention of the Association, provided <br />that the adjustment is not inconsistent with the terms of this Agreement. In the event thac <br />the Grievance is adjusted without formal detercnination, pursuant to the procedure, wlule <br />such adjustment slWl be binding upon tlie Aggrieved Party and the Employer, and in all <br />respects be final, said adjustment shall not create a precedent or niling upon the <br />Employer in future proceedings. <br />F. The Aggrieved Party may have Association representation at any step of the Grievance <br />Procedure. <br />G. The time limits provided herein will be sirictly adhered to and any Grievance szot filed <br />initially or appealed within the specific time limits oudined in this Article shall be <br />deemed null and void.
