24. 5 The Emplo} er sha11 annually provide each Employee with a tliirteen (13) sliift cvcle scheciule <br />commencing an 7anuarv L 1993, and indicate the thirteen (I3) shift cyctes in which die Employer <br />has scheduled lus Keliev Davs. <br />24.6 To atieviate scheduling problems, Kellev Days shall be iaken as schediiied. Keiley Davs shall be <br />scheduled by Januan, 1 of each yeaz, and sl;all not be rescheduIed for any, reason «ithout approval <br />of the Fire Chief. <br />24.7 ShouId the Fire Chief find it necessarn to place an Employee on a foriv (40) how schedule for <br />purpases of training or Light Dutv, the Employee sha11 receive sufficient notice indicating the <br />beginning and end of such farty (40) hour schedule. <br />24.8 Employees shatl have the right to exct?ange hours when, in the opuvnn of Tlie Shift Officer; such <br />changes do not urterfere wifli Fire Department operations. All sucli ciiiiiges are subject to the <br />approval of the Fire Cluef or his designee. No Overtime shall be allowed and no additional cost is <br />to be incurred by the Employer due to such changes unless shifi ctzaiigc was approved prior to any <br />class being scheduled <br />ARTICLE X.YV <br />LIGffT DUTY <br />25.1 The Fire Chief or his designee may at his discretion assign an Emplo_yee to Light Duty, should an <br />Emplo_yee be unable to perform his regular job tasks. Tlie Employee shail provide upon request of <br />the Fire Chief, medicai certification from the Emgtoyee's physician citing the Employee's <br />physical limitauons, explaining why the Employee can't perform lus regular job task and <br />responsibilities and a progiosis of liow lon,g the Employee will be uiaable to perfonn his regular <br />job tasks. <br />The Employee may submit a request to the Fire Cluef or his designee to ie assi .Q,?. zec! to Light Duty. <br />The Emplovee shall first submit a request to the Fire Ckrief or his designee along with <br />corrotwration from the Employee's phvsician citnig: the Employee's physical limitation, why the <br />Employee can't perfornt his job task and responsibilities and a prognosis of liow long the <br />Employee will be required to refrain from performing his job task. <br />31 <br />
