overtime pay for appearance at Rocly River Muiucipal Court. A muiinium four (4) hours overtime <br />pay shall be paid for appearance at a Grand Jurv. Common Pleas Court or 3uvenile Court. <br />27.2 The Employer shall gant leave Nvith the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus LongPti-ity to an Employee <br />for the period of time he is required to appear for jury duty. <br />27.3 1he Employee mat- be required to work weekends while on jun• t?uty. He shali not be required to <br />work I2hours before jury duty or twelve hours after jury dury. <br />ARTICLE XXVTII <br />CON'I'INUING EDUCATION <br />Thc Employer shali provids continuing education for those Employees who are requirLd to recertifv in <br />arcas that require mandatory recertification for the Employee to maintain empto}-ment. Costs for <br />coiuiiuzing education shall be paid by the Employer and if said education requires the Efnployee to attend <br />classes above and beyond his Nornial Work Schedule, he shall be paid Overtime Pay. The education must <br />be approved in advance by the Fire Chief or his designee. <br />ARTICLE XXIX <br />EOUIPMENT AND GEAR <br />29.1 The Erriployer shall furnish and mainWin at no cost to the Employee all gloves, helmets, protective <br />clothing and other protective equipment necessanr to preserve and prfltect the safetv and health of <br />the Empioyee as determuied by the Fire Chief. <br />29.2 An Occapational Safety and Health Committee shall be established and shall sen-e in an acvisory <br />capacity to the Fire Chief. The committee shall include the designated Fire Departmeni safety <br />officer, representarives of Fire Department management, and three naemters of the North Olmsted <br />Fire Department, chosen by the UiuoiL who have attained the rank of First Class or higher. T1ie <br />conunittee shall also be permitted to indude other persons, to be appointed by die Fire Chief. <br />29.3 The purpose of this committee sha11 be to conduct researctt, develop reconunendations_ study, and <br />review matters pertaining to occupational safety and health within the Fire De.partment. <br />33 <br />
