29.4 The conunittee shall hold regularly scheduled meetings and shall tie permitted to hold speciai <br />meetings whenever necessan-. Regular meetings shall be held at least once in every six morRhs. <br />Written minutes shall be mtained and shall be made available to all Employees. <br />29.5 The committee shall make recommendations to the Fire Chief on matters concerning the safety <br />and liealfli of department members. The Fire Chief shall respond within thinv days or within a <br />mutual2y agreed time frame. Should a dispute exist with respect to the decision of the Fire Ckuef <br />regarding corrective measures, the committee may submit tttose recommendations to the Safety <br />Director requesting relief from the Fire Chief s decision. Upon receipt, the Safety Director shatl <br />respond within ten days. The decision of the Safety Director may be appealed to the Mayor or his <br />designee and his decision shall be final. <br />ARTICLE XXX <br />COMPENSATORY TIME <br />30.1 Each Employee shall have the right to convert Overtime hours into Compensatory Time with die <br />approval of the Fire Chief or his designee on a dollaz for-dollar basis. Employees shall be paid for <br />alI Compensatorv Time accumulated in excess of four hundred eighry (480) hours on the next <br />schedtfled pay. <br />30.2 Employees may have the right to take Compensatory Time when the tune off dces not interfere <br />,Aitli the operation of the Fire Department. The taking of€ of such Compensatory Time shall be <br />subject to the approval of the Fire Chief or 2us designee. Overtime shall be converteti to <br />Compensatory Time at the currerrt rate of pay plus Longevity on a dotlar-for dollar basis. <br />30.3 An Employee or his estate shall be paid for unused, accumuiated Compensatory Time at the time <br />of disability, retirement or death at the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay for his wark week plus longevity <br />if applicable. <br />30.4 Compensatory• time may be used in increments of no less than one (1) hour except at the end of a <br />shift in which case Compensatory Time may be used in half ( i/2) hour increments up to one (1) <br />hour. <br />34 <br />
