For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section: (a) "Apartment house" means a building containing four or more apartments. (b) "Rooming house" means a building which has five or more rooms, or suites of rooms, which are offered for use or are permitted to be used by roomers, or a building containing one, two or three dwelling units with five or more paying guests, the majority of whom are roomers residing with a family in any one of such dwelling units. (c) "Dormitory", as applied to a room, means a room used as accessory sleeping quarters for nontransients. (d) "Accessory sleeping quarters means a space or building which is an accessory to another occupancy, and which is used for sleeping quarters for five or more nontransients. (e) "Nontransient" means a person who resides in the same building or quarters for a period of thirty days or more. (Ord. 68-199. Passed 1-7-69.)
