24.7 To alleviate scheduling problems, Kelley Days shall be talcen as scheduled. Kelley Days shall be <br />scheduled by January 1 of each year, and shall not be rescheduled for any reason without approval <br />of the Fire Chief. <br />24.8 Any change in shift assignment other than for Light Duty shall, except in an emergency, require <br />the Chief to provide seven (7) days written notice to any affected employee indicating the <br />beginning and expected end, if any, of such change. <br />24.9 Employees shall have the right to exchange hours when, in the opinion of the Shift Officer, such <br />changes do not interfere with Fire Department operations. All such changes are subject to the <br />approval of the Fire Chief or his designee. No Overtime shall be allowed and no additional cost is <br />to be incuired by the Employer due to such changes unless sluft change was approved prior to any <br />class being scheduled. <br />ARTICLE XXV <br />LIGHT DUTY <br />25.1 The Fire Chief or his designee may at his discretion assign an Employee to Light Duty, should an <br />Employee be unable to perform his regulaz job tasks. The Employee shall provide upon request of <br />the Fire Chief, medical certification from the Employee's physician citing the Employee's <br />physical limitations, explaining why the Employee can't perform his regulaz job task and <br />responsibilities and a prognosis of how long the Employee will be unable to perform his regulaz <br />job tasks. <br />The Employee may submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee to be assigned to Light Duty. <br />The Employee shall first submit a request to the Fire Chief or his designee along with <br />corroboration &om the Employee's physician citing: the Employee's physical limitarion, why the <br />Employee can't perform his job task and responsibilities and a prognosis of how long the <br />Employee will be required to refrain from performing his job task. <br />Light Duty, if approved, shall be limited to availability of Light Duty assignments and which is <br />medically appropriate and which contributes to the funcrion and mission of the Department. All <br />Light Duty assignments aze to be of a temporary nature. <br />36 <br />
