<br />Basic Scope of the Professional Design Services <br />Surveying Services <br />a. Research and procure all appropriate records and perform all surveys to <br />establish the horizontal and vertical control alignment for the proposed <br />improvements. <br />b. Obtain all pertinent information regarding the present conditions at the site <br />with respect to existing installation or other conditions relevant to the <br />design. <br />c. Contact the Cleveland Water Department and other utility companies to <br />obtain information and location of their facilities. Copy all <br />correspondence to the utility companies to the City Engineer. <br />Design and Drafting Services <br />1. Prepare preliminary plan recommendations and report for the rehabilitation of the two <br />culverts. A hydraulic analysis shall be performed for the determination of the size; of <br />the liner pipe for the Bradley Road culvert. <br />2. Prepare design drawings and specifications for use in bidding and construction. T'wo <br />separate sets of drawings will be required since the Bradley Road culvert <br />construction may be partially funded by Cuyahoga County. The specifications shall <br />be incorporated into a project manual which shall also include the advertisement, <br />instructions to bidders, general conditions, bid forms, bond requirements, prevaili:ng <br />wage rates, affidavits, and other miscellaneous forms required for a bidding <br />document. Final plans and specifications shall incorporate all changes required in the <br />review of preliminary plans. Design drawings shall be prepared according to the <br />City's standards for plan preparation. <br />3. Include design of any required temporary right of way in the preliminary and deta.iled <br />plans. Prepare legal descriptions required for temporary right of way. <br />4. Prepare maintenance of traffic plans for phased construction. <br />5. Submit preliminary plans and detailed plans for review. Preliminary plans shall also <br />be submitted to all of the affected utility companies (and Cuyahoga County, if <br />required) for their review. A copy of the transmittal letter to the utility companies <br />shall be provided to the City Engineer. <br />6. Drawings shall also include a title sheet, roadway and culvert typical sections, culvert <br />plan and profile, general notes and detail sheets. <br />7. Detailed plans shall be submitted to the City for review along with an opinion of <br />probable construction costs for the project, broken down into major components. <br />Detailed plans shall also be submitted to the affected utility companies for review. A <br />copy of the transmittal letter to the utility companies shall be provided to the City <br />Engineer. <br />8. Fifteen (15) sets of plans and fifteen (15) project manuals shall be furnished to the <br />City for bidding purposes.
