In the event that a sufficient number of <br />employees are not available within the classification for the overtime assignment, <br />qualified employees from a different classification and/or department shall be offered the <br />overtime work and the overtime opportunity shall be distributed as equitable as possible. <br />The City shall maintain lists by classification showing the overtime hours of each <br />employee. All overtime hours shall be recorded on a daily basis. The overtime lists <br />shalf be posted at each work tocation (Service Garage, Plant and Systems) and shall be <br />kept current on a daily basis. The Service Mechanics and helpers will be subject to <br />rotating overtime. These overtime lists shall be reduced to zero and start again on July <br />1st of each year. Students, seasonal and part-time employees will not work overtime <br />until a!l regular employees have been offered overtime. <br />Section 3. During snow season, employees will be canvassed daily to determine <br />their availability during the ensuing non-shiftlovertime hours for snow removal or ice <br />control duty. However, employees who refuse overtime but ultimately would not have <br />been called off the list will not be re-edited with overtime hours worked. The overtime <br />seniority list will be followed and those employees not interested in being called will not <br />be contacted on a subsequent cal( out unless emergency conditions develop. <br />Section 4. For the purpose of Article 11 it shall not be deemed practicable to <br />distribute an overtime opportunity in strict accordance with the overtime lists where: (1) <br />The City, in good faith, estimates that the opportunity consists of no more than one (1) <br />hour of overtime work per man required, or (2) the opportunity arises during an <br />emergency as defined in Section 1. <br />16 <br />
