Section 2. Deductions under this Article 4 shall be made during the second pay <br />period of each month, but if an employee's pay for that period is insufficient to cover <br />Union dues, the City will make a deduction from the pay earned during the next period <br />or a subsequent period. All deductions under this Article accompanied by an <br />alphabetical list of all employees for whom deductions have been made, shall be <br />transmitted to the Union no later than the fifteenth (15) day following the end of the pay <br />period in which the deduction is made, and upon receipt, the Union shall assume full <br />responsibility for the disposition of all funds deducted. <br />Section 3. The Union will indemnify and save the City harmless from any action <br />growing out of deductions hereunder and commenced by an employee against the City <br />or the City and the Union jointly. <br />Section 4. All bargaining unit employees who are not members of the Union <br />shall pay a fair share fee to the Union in the amount certified by the Union as being <br />properly chargeable as a fair share fee. All employees hired after the effective date of <br />the Contract who do not become members of the Union shall pay the fair share fee, <br />effective sixty (60) days from the employee's date of hire, as a condition of employment. <br />The deduc#ion of the fairshare from any earnings of the employee shal) be automatic <br />and does not require a written authorization for payroll deduction. Payment to the Union <br />of fair share fees shall be made in accordance with Section 1 and 2 above. <br />ARTICLE 5 - BULLETIN BOARDS <br />Section 1. The City shall provide the Union four (4) Bulletin Boards; One (1) in <br />the Wastewater Treatment P1ant; One (1) in the Service Garage Lunchroom; One (1) in <br />the Systems Ofifice. and One (1) in the Service Department Lunchroom, for notices of <br />Union Business including notices of Union meetings; elections and other Union related <br />3 <br />
