ARTICLE 10 - HOURS OF WORK <br />Section 1. The normai week for regular full-time bargaining unit employees of the City <br />Hal1, Fire Department, Division on Aging, Recreation Department and Potice Department shall <br />be forty (40) hours of work in five (5) days of eight (8) consecutive hours per day, inclusive of <br />time allotted for meals during the period, providing the employee works a total of five (5) hours, <br />unless an emergency occurred. !t is recognized that the Police Department, and Recreation <br />Department (maintenance employees) will be manned on a continuous operation schedule and <br />individual employees will be assigned to work schedules accordingly. An emergency is defined <br />to mean not preplanned or scheduled. <br />(a) City Hall Clerks and Inspectors will be scheduled to work <br />8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. <br />(b) Recreation Department Clerks will be scheduted to work <br />8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. <br />(c) Maintenance Employees only with the Recreation Department <br />will be given a seven (7) day advance notice of any <br />schedule change. <br />Section 2. The City may not reduce the weekly schedule of work for any department or <br />emp(oyee below forty (40) hours without agreement with the Union. This shall not prevent <br />reduction or cancellation of scheduled hours or work on a temporary basis if an emergency <br />occurs which is beyond the controt of the City. <br />Section 3. Employees shall be allowed not less than sixty (60) uninterrupted minutes for <br />a scheduled lunch period daily except for ather schedules mutuaily agreed upon with the Union. <br />The lunch period shall count as time worked for all purposes, including computation af overtime. <br />Section 4. Employees wili be paid time and one-half (1 1/2) of their straight time rate of <br />pay for hours worked in excess of eight (8) in any one work day and time and one half (1 1I2) of <br />their straight time rate of pay for hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in any one work <br />12 <br />
