Tn 7 7^1-7G89 P. i?, <br />Further, if at any time the Gity determines, on the basis of <br />medical evzdence, that the employee is permanentiy disabled and wa.ll no <br />langer be able to carzX on his duties, then the City may terminate <br />payments and insist that the employee qa an a pension pragram. <br />SECTXoN 3: Any employee who qualifies for the benefits un.der this <br />Article shali not have his accumulated sick time reduced because oE a <br />qualified accidental injury which occurred while in the line pf duty. <br />ARTIGLE 23: <br />BEREAVEMENT LEAVE <br />SEGTZON 1: Ail employees shall be c}ranted bereavement leave (not to <br />be deducted from empldyee's accumulated sick leave) accordzng to the <br />following schedule, to wit: <br />{a} Upon the death of an immediate family member, other than <br />spause, three (3) days; and (b) Upan the death of spouse, ar a child of the immediate Family, <br />f ive (5) days. <br />SECTION 2: Fox the purposes of this Article, Xmmediate fdmiiy shall <br />mean: parents; paxents of spouse; brother; sister; brother of spouse; <br />sistier of spouse; gxandparents; grandchild; as weIl as persons Ziving <br />in the empioyee's home. <br />ARTICLE 24: <br />JURY DUTY LEAVE <br />SECTZON 1: An employee caI?ed for jury duty shall he qranted a <br />leave af absence For the pexiod of the jury service and will be <br />compensated at fuJ.l pay for absences necessarily caused by the jury <br />duty. <br />SECTION 2: Ezuployees working the second, third, relief ox overlap <br />shifts, will not be required to work on the day that the emp3.oyee is on <br />jury duty and these employees will be compensatad as provided in <br />Section 1. <br />ARTICLE 25: <br />xEAL2'H ANb BAFETY <br />SECTION 1: Safety xAUSt be a prime concern and responsibility of <br />both parties.
