TO P. 0?? <br />AxTzcLE a : <br />DVES bEbUCTION lAYdb FA2R gBARE <br />SEGTION l: The Employer agrees that it shall deduct the <br />initiation fee, assessments and regular monthly dues from the pay <br />of regular fu1 z-time emplayees covered by t.his Agreement upon <br />receipt from the OPB.A. of iridividual written authorizatian cax-ds <br />which have been voZuntaxily executed by the employee for that <br />purpose and bearing the amployees signature. Any member of the <br />OPBA shali have the x-ight to revoke such authorization during <br />the follbwxng period: <br />Not less than thirty (30) calendar days but not sooner than <br />forty-five (45) calendar days przax to the expirati.on date of <br />this collective bargaining agreement by giving written notice to <br />the OPBA, with praof of service. Proaf of service is defined to <br />mean that the written natiCe shall contain the name of the OPBA, <br />the addxess to which the written notxce is to be delivered and <br />methad delivery was made. be2ivexy shpuld be made by U.S. <br />Certified MaiZ, with requested receipti of delxvexy. A copy of the <br />same sha].l be provided to the office of the Dzxector of Finance. <br />Any xnember of the OPBA shall have the right to fi].e an <br />application with the State Employsnent Relata.ons Board for a <br />Religious Exemption. Such an application shall be mailed to the <br />State Employment ReZatians Board by the employee. A copy of the <br />same shall be provided to the offxce of the Director of Finance. <br />SECTION 2: Deductions of assessments, dues and fees shall be <br />made during the fizst pay period of each month and if an <br />emplayee's pax for that period is insufficient to covex ppBA <br />assesslttents ox- dues, the Employer will make a deduction fx-om the <br />pay earned xn the next period or subsequent pexxod. All <br />deductions for assessments oz dues shall be accompanied by an <br />alphabetical list of all employees for whom the deductions have <br />been made arid shall be transmitted to the OQSA no later L'han <br />thirty (30) days following the end of the pay period in which the <br />deductxons are made. Upon recei,pt, the OPBA shall assume fuii <br />respansibility for the dxsposition of all funds deducted. <br />SECTION 3: The OPBA shall indemnify and save the EmpJ.oyex <br />harmless from any and all liabilitYes dr damages whicfla may arise <br />from the perfdrmance of its obligations undex the provisions of <br />this Article and the OPBA shall ir,demnify the Employer for any <br />such liability pz damages that may axise from any action growing <br />out of deductions, commenced by an employee against the Empl4yer <br />ox' the Employer and the OPBA jointly. <br />SECTION 4: All fu21-time bax'gaining unit employees who are <br />not members of the pPBA shall pay a£aiz share fee to the OPBA in <br />the amount certzfxed by the OPBA as beinq properly chargeabie as <br />2 <br />
