ARTICLE XXV <br />HOLIDAYS <br />Section 25.01. All full-time employees of the Transit Department shall be entitled to eleven <br />(11) holidays annually, as follows: . <br />1. New Year's Day <br />2. Easter <br />3. Memorial Day (Observed) <br />4. Independence Day <br />5. Labor Day <br />6. Thanksgiving Day <br />7. Christmas Day <br />8. Employment Anniversary Date <br />9. Employee's Birthday <br />* 10. Floating Holiday <br />* 11. Floating Holiday <br />*Floating holidays may be used anytime during the calendar year, subject to Section 25.05. <br />If any full-time employee is required to work on any of the following nine (9) Holidays; <br />New Year's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, <br />Christmas Day, or the days an employee observes his birthday or employment anniv.ersary day, <br />then the employee shall be paid time and one-half for such work in addition to the holiday pay. <br />Section 25.02. The use of holiday time by full-time employees shall be subject to the <br />Employer's administrative rules and regulations. When an observed holiday falls on the first day <br />of a weekend, the holiday will be celebrated on the day preceding the weekend. When a holiday <br />falls on the second day of a weekend the holiday will be celebrated on the day succeeding the <br />weekend. If a holiday occurs while an employee is on vacation leave, the employee may either <br />receive the extra eight (8) hours holiday pay or pick another day off. <br />Section 25.03. For an employee to receive holiday pay he must work the complete scheduled <br />day preceding and the compiete scheduled day following the holiday. If an employee fails to <br />work he shall forfeit his holiday pay. Employees who call in sick for the holiday, shall also <br />forfeit the holiday pay. Holiday pay and sick leave shall not be paid on the same day. <br />Management discretion may be used in this section for special situations. <br />Section 25.04. All full-time employees shall give at least seven (7) days advance written <br />notice to receive consideration for a floating holiday. Floating holidays requested will be <br />approved by seniority. <br />Section 25.05 The use of the floating holidays will be permitted at any time; provided it does <br />not conflict with primary vacation selections or does not create a scheduling problem. <br />21 <br />, ... ,
