relating to employment on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin, disability, sex <br />or age. Furthermore, the provisions of the Agreement shall be applied equally to all <br />employees in the bargaining unit without discrimination as to age, martiai status, race, <br />sex, color, creed, national origin or political affiliation. The OPBA sha11 share equally <br />with the City the responsibility for applying this provision of the Agreement. <br />The male pronoun or adjective used herein refers to the female also unless <br />otherwise indicated. <br />Part-time Correction Officers shall not be considered for appointment to a full- <br />time Correction Officer position unless the part-time Correction Officer participates in a <br />North Olmsted Civil Service Competitive Examination and competitively with other <br />candidates for consideration. All Civil Service Rules and Regulations relating to <br />original appointrnents shall apply. <br />2.2 T'he City agrees not to interfere with the rights of employees to become members <br />of the OPBA, and there shall be no discrimination, interf'erence, restraint or coercion by <br />the City representative(s) against any employee(s) because of OPBA membership or lack <br />of OPBA membership. <br />2.3 The OPBA recognizes its responsibilities as bargaining unit, members and non- <br />member5, without discrimination, interference, restraint or coercion. <br />ARTICLE III <br />AGENCY SHOP/DUES DEDUCTION <br />3.1 Within thirty (30) days of the execution of this Agreement, all employees in the <br />bargaining unit shall either become dues paying members of the OPBA or, as a condition <br />of continued employment, remit to the OPBA a fair share fee in accordance with the <br />provisions of Ohio Revised Code Section 4117.09 (C). <br />2 <br />
