~~~ ~ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 71- ~~ ~ Page 3 <br />Section 140.08 Carrvina Of Firearms <br />The issuance of a Private Police commission shall not in <br />itself constitute authority to carry firearms. Applicant <br />must comply with the laws of the State of Ohio regarding <br />the carrying of firearms. <br />Such Private Police must each secure a bond ,which bond <br />shall be approved by the Clerk of the Common Pleas Court <br />of Cuyahoga County, and said bond shall be in the amount <br />of One Thousand Dollars ($1, 000.00) in order to carry <br />firearms while on duty. Private Police shall comply with <br />all crther requirements as set forth in Ohio Revised Code, <br />Section 2923.01. <br />Section 140.09 Qualifications Reauired For Commission As Private Police- <br />men and/or Private P'licewomen <br />No person shall be commissioned as a Private Policeman <br />and/or Private Pa~licewomen unless he or she is licensed <br />to do so. An Applicant for such commission shall : <br />(A) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age or over, an <br />American citizen, or have declared his or her intention <br />to become a ,citizen and shall become a citizen at the <br />earliest opportunity he or she can legally do so. <br />(B) Be of sound physique, with good eyesight (with or with- <br />out glasses ), .and not subject to vertigo, heart trouble, <br />or any other infirmity of body or mind which might render <br />him or her unfit for the safe ;performance of the duties of <br />such commission. Such Applicant shall supply a= ' al <br />statement signed by a physician to the Director of Public <br />Safety that he or she is free from any and all of the in- <br />firmities mentioned in this Section. Said medical state- <br />ment shall be furnished at the same time he or she submits. <br />their application for a Private Police commission. <br />(C) Shall be able to read, write and speak the English language. <br />(D) Shall be clean in dress and person, of good moral character <br />and not addicted to the use of intoxicating liquors and/or <br />drugs . <br />{ E) Produce, on forms to be provided by the Director of Public <br />Safety of the City, affidavits of his good character from <br />two (2) reputable citizens of the City or the County of <br />Cuyahoga, who have known him or her personally, and a <br />further testimonial on a form provided for that purpose, <br />from his. min h~r:last employer, unless, in the estimation <br />of the said Director of Public Safety sufficient reason is <br />given for its omission. <br />(F) Fill out, upon a form to be provided by the Director of <br />Public Safety, a statement giving his or her full name ; <br />residence ;place of residence for ten (10) years previous <br />to moving to his present address ;age ;color ;height ; <br />.. <br />
