<br />- 17 - <br />~. <br />whose anniversary date falls in the last four (~+) months of the <br />calendar year, the employee may be allowed to take vacation leave <br />before the anniversary date by mutual agreement between the employee <br />and the City. <br />53. An employee shall become eligible for a vacation only ff he is <br />actively employed in nine (9) oP the twelve (12) months preceding <br />his anniversary date. Paid sick leave shall be considered active <br />employment. <br />5~+. If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or involuntarily) prior <br />to taking his vacation, he shall receive the pro-rated portion of <br />any fully earned but unused vacation leave at the time of separation. <br />In case of death of an employee, the unused vacation leave shall <br />be paid to the estate. <br />55. If a day recognized as a holiday by the terms of this Memorandum <br />falls within an employee's vacation leave, the employee shall have <br />the option of receiving an additional day of time off or an addi- <br />tional day's pay in recognition of the holiday. <br />Holidays <br />56. A11 regular full-time employees shall be entitled to the following <br />paid holidays: <br />New Year's ~.y <br />Presidents Day (commencing in Feba^uary, 1970 <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Christmas Day <br />F~nployee's Birthday <br />57. To be entitled to holiday pay, employees must Work the last regular <br />work day before and the first regular work day after the holiday <br />unless excused by the City. If any of the above holidays fall on <br />a Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed as the holiday. <br />
