This Memorandum is made between the City of North Olmsted, herein- after referred to as the "City", and District Council 78 and Local No. 2681 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, hereinafter referred to as the "Union". The male pronoun or adjective where used herein refers to the female also unless otherwise indicated. The term "employee" or "employees" where used herein refers to all employees in the bargaining unit. The purpose of this Memorandum is to provide a fair and responsible method of enabling employees covered by this Memoranda to parti- cipate through union representation in the establishment of terms and conditions of their employment including rates of pay, wages, hours, and working conditions, and to establish a peaceful proce- dare for the resolution of all differences between the parties. Recognition 2. The Union is recognized as the sole and exclusive representative for the duration of this Agreement for the employees in the Sob classifications listed in Appendix A and the City will not recognize aqy other Union, organization, or person as the representative for any employees within such classifications. Nothing herein shall prevent individual employees from discussing terms and conditions of employment not covered by this Memorandum with the City nor will anything herein prevent employees from raising individual complaints or grievances with the City, however such communication shall not be used to undermine the position of the Union as the representative of the employees. kFG[~ ..
