' ~ r <br />. : <br />- 2 - <br />Non Discrimination <br /> <br />3. Both the City and the Union recognize their respective responsi- <br />bilities under the Federal and State civil rights laws, fair em- <br />ployment practice acts, and other similar constitutional and statu- <br />tory requirements. Therefore, both the City and the Union hereby <br />reaffirm their. commitments, legal and moral, not to discriminate <br />in any manner relating to employment on the basis of race, color, <br />creed, national origin, sex, or age. <br />4. The City recognizes the right of all employees and all applicants <br />for employment to be free to loin the Union and participate in <br />lawful, concerted Union activities. Therefore, the City agrees <br />that there shall be no discrimination, interference, restraint, <br />coercion, or reprisal by the City against any employee or any ap- <br />plicant for employment because of Union membership or because of <br />any lawful activity in an official capacity on behalf of the Union. <br />The Union recognizes the right of all employees and all applicants <br />for employment to be free to loin or not to loin the Union and <br />agrees that there shall be no discrimination, interference, re- <br />straint, coercion, or reprisal by the Union against any employee <br />or any applicant for employment because of non-Union membership. <br />Chec_ <br />5.
