' r <br />r <br />-3- <br /> <br />pay period of each month, but if an employee's pay for that period <br />is insufficient to cover Union dues, the City will make a deduction <br />from the pay earned during the next period or a subsequent period. <br />All deductions under this Paragraph 5, accompanied by an alphabeti- <br />cal list of all employees for whom deductions have been made, shall <br />be transmitted to the Union no later than the fifteenth (15th) day <br />following the end of the pay period in which the deduction is made, <br />and upon receipt, the Union shall assume full responsibility for <br />the disposition of all funds deducted. <br />Bulletin Boards <br />6. The City shall provide reasonable space on its Bulletin Boards for <br />notices of Union business including notices of Union meetings, <br />elections and similar matters. <br />Union Representation <br />7. Employees selected by the Union to act as Union Representatives <br />for the purpose of processing grievances under the Grievance Pro- <br />cedure shall be known as stewards. The City will recognize one <br />steward and one alternate steward from each of the following: (1) <br />Waste Water Department; (2) Mechanics; (3) Waste Collection; (~+) <br />Miscellaneous employees. The steward shall represent employees <br />on all three shifts. The alternate steward shall be recognized <br />when the regular steward is absent or otherwise not available. <br />8. Employees who participate in meetings under Step 1 of the Grievance <br />Procedure, during their scheduled working time, or other meetings <br />scheduled by the City under the Grievance Procedure, during their <br />scheduled working time, will be paid Por time actually lost from <br />their scheduled work time for the purpose of participating in such <br />meetings. <br />wR~, ~~ <br />
