<br /> <br />RECALL FROri LAY-OFF <br />44. Employees shall be recalled to their classification <br />in accordance with seniority or to other jobs they are c{ualified <br />to nerform in accordance with their seniority in the reverse <br />order of their lay-off. An employee on lay-off will be given <br />seven (7) calendar days' notice of recall from the date on <br />which the United States Postal Service makes the first attempt <br />to deliver the recall notice by certified mail to the employee's <br />last known address as shown on the City's records. This period <br />may be extended by agreement between the City and the Union. <br />PROrTOTIOVS, BIDDIITG, TRkNSFERS AND JOB TRAINING <br />45. When a vacancy occurs within a job classification <br />covered by the terms of this Memorandum, or a new job is created <br />within the meaning of Paragraph 61 of this Memorandum, the City <br />shall post a notice of the onening for seven (7) consecutive <br />calendar days on bulletin boards within each department. The <br />notice shall contain the job classification, title, rate of <br />pay, department and a brief job description. Any employee may <br />apply for any such onening posted by filing a written application <br />on forms provided by the City, with the Service Director on or <br />before the last day of the posting period. Any application not <br />timely filed need not be given consideration. <br />46. All timely applications will be reviewed by the City and <br />the job shall be awarded within five (5) working days to the <br />most senior applicant in the next lower classification in the <br />? <br />-24- ?.
