,. <br />c. Is laid off for a period equal to the amount of <br />seniority held at the time the lay-off commences, <br />or forty-eight (48) consecutive months, whichever ' <br />is less; <br />d. Fails to report to work within seven (7) calendar <br />days when recalled from lay-off by certified mail <br />addressed to the employee's last known address as <br />shown on the City's records, unless the employee <br />is unable to work due to medically proven disability; <br />e. Is absent without report for three (3) consecutive <br />work days unless the employee has a reasonable excuse <br />• for failing to report the absence. <br />Section 5. The City shall advise the Union in writing of <br />additions to or deletions from the seniority list at the end of <br />each pay period when the action took place. A copy of the list <br />of additions and/or deletions will be sent to the Local Union <br />President and the Local Union Treasurer. <br />ARTICLE 10 - HOURS OF WORK <br />Section 1. The normal week for regular full-time bargaining <br />unit employees of the City Hall, Recreation Department and Police <br />Department shall be forty (40) hours of work in five (5) days of <br />eight (8) consecutive hours per day, inclusive of time allotted <br />for meals during the period. It is recognized that the Police <br />Department and Recreation Department (maintenance employees) will <br />be manned on a continuous operation schedule and individual <br />employees will be assigned to work schedules accordingly. <br />(a) City Hall Clerks and Inspectors will be scheduled <br />to work 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. daily. <br />(b) Recreation Department Clerks will be scheduled to <br />work 8:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. daily. , <br />Section 2. The City may not reduce the weekly schedule of <br />work for any department or employee below forty (40) hours <br />without agreement with the Union. This shall not prevent <br />- 12 - <br />
