other qualified employees on the same or similar jobs, and when <br />his record as to quality and quantity of work meets the standard <br />applicable to the job. If he fails to so qualify or so requests, <br />within ten (10) days after the employee is awarded the job, he <br />shall be returned to his former job. An employee awarded a job <br />under the provisions of Article 19 shall receive at the time of <br />his promotion, the appropriate rate of pay in the classification. <br />Section 7: No employee shall be eligible for promotion, or <br />lateral or downward transfer, under these provisions until he has <br />satisfactorily completed the required probationary period. <br />ARTICLE 20: TEMPORARY TRANSFERS <br />Section 1: When an employee is temporarily transferred for <br />one (1) hour or more to another classification, he shall receive <br />the higher of his regular rate or the next higher rate of the job <br />to which he is transferred for the entire period of time of the <br />transfer. A temporary transfer shall not exceed thirty (30) <br />working days except: <br />(a) to fill a vacancy caused by an employee <br />being on sick leave or other approved <br />leave of absence; <br />(b) to provide vacation relief scheduling; <br />(c) to fill an opening temporarily pending <br />permanent filling of such opening; <br />(d) to meet an emergency situation; <br />(e) to meet changes in the work load; and <br />(f) to accommodate the presence of summer employees. <br />28 <br />
