ARTICLE 21: VACATIONS <br />Section 1: Regular full-time employees shall be granted <br />vacation leave with full pay in accordance with the following <br />schedule: <br />One through four years - 2 weeks <br />Five through nine years - 3 weeks <br />Ten through fourteen years - 4 weeks <br />Fifteen through twenty years - 5 weeks <br />Twenty-one years or more - 6 weeks <br />Section 2: An employee shall become eligible for vacation <br />leave on his anniversary date and vacation leave shall be taken <br />by the employee within twelve (12) months thereafter. However <br />employees shall be permitted to carry over 50% of his annual <br />vacation eligibility in a given year to be used during the <br />subsequent year. <br />Section 3. Pay in lieu of vacation is limited to conditions <br />as set forth in Ordinance 83-31. <br />Section 4: If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or <br />involuntarily) prior to taking his vacation and has completed one <br />(1) year of employment with the City, he shall receive the pro- <br />rated portion of any accrued but unused vacation at the time of <br />separation. In case of death of an employee, the unused vacation <br />leave shall be paid to the estate. <br />29 <br />
