The written <br />response at this step, and management <br />responses at all steps thereafter, shall <br />contain the following information: <br />(a) an affirmation or denial of the facts <br />upon which the grievance is based <br />(b) an analysis of the validity of the <br />grievance <br />(c) the remedy or adjustment, if any, to be made <br />(d) the signature of the appropriate <br />management representative. <br />3. If the grievance is not resolved at <br />Step 2, the aggrieved employee shall, within <br />seven (7) working days following receipt of <br />his immediate supervisor's written response, <br />submit a written grievance collectively to <br />intermediate supervisors within the chain of <br />command of the employee's work unit. These <br />supervisors shall respond in writing to this <br />grievance within seven (7) working days of <br />its receipt. <br />4. If the grievance is not resolved at <br />Step 3, the aggrieved employee shall submit <br />a written grievance to the Chief within <br />seven (7) working days following the <br />intermediate supervisor's written response. <br />The Chief of Police shall respond in writing <br />to this grievance within seven (7) working <br />days of its receipt. <br />-21-
