CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDIIVANCE N0. 84 - 17 <br />PAGE 2 <br />Department and the same is the result of a mistaken Uelief <br />that an unlawful entry or other emergency is about to occur; <br />alarms which are the result of faulty, malfunctioning or <br />improperly installed or maintained equipment; alarms which <br />are the result of improperly installed, secured or maintained <br />windows, doors or similar general areas of the building; and <br />alarms which are purposely activated to summon the police in <br />non-energency situations. False alarms shall not include <br />alarms willfully activated by alarm subscribers or users that <br />are on the premises where the alarm is installed, upon good <br />faith belief that an actual or attempted burglary, holdup, <br />aggravated assault, unlawful entry or other bona fide <br />emergency is about to occur. When the cause has been proven <br />to be an act of God, or malfunction caused by testing or <br />repairing of telephonic lines maintained and operated by <br />public utilities under the regulation of the Public Service <br />Commission. <br />(b) "Alarm System11 means any assembly of equipment, <br />mechanical or electrical, arranged to signal the occurrence <br />of an illegal entry, holdup, aggravated assault or other bona <br />fide emergency at a premises requiring an immediate response <br />to the scene by the North Olmsted Police Department. <br />(c) "Subscriber" - iaeans any user who employs the services <br />of a central alarm system. <br />(d) "[Jser" - means any person owning, using and/or operating <br />an alarm system. <br />559.03 AUTHORITY TO INSTALL ALARM <br />Any residence, lawful business, church, school or other <br />similar structure located within the City of North Olmsted <br />may be equipped with an emergency alarm for the purpose of <br />detecting an unauthorized intrusion upon compliance with this <br />Ordinance, including those pertaining to permits. <br />559.04 PROHIBITION OF PRERECORDED TRANSMITTALS <br />No person shall transmit or cause to be transmitted a <br />prerecorded message to report any burglary, holdup, or other <br />emergency directly to the North Olrnsted Police Department by <br />means of any telephone device, telephone attachrnent, alarm <br />system of other device. <br />559.05 ALARMS CONNECTED DIRECTLY TO THE POLICE ALARM PANEL <br />(a) A perrnit is required to be obtained by an authorized <br />employee of a Bank or Savin;s & Loan to connect installed <br />equipriient to the North Olmsted Police station emergency <br />panel. <br />(b) The Safety Director or his autnorized representative may <br />;r.
