CITY UF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 84 -17 <br />PAGE 6 <br />good cause for an extension of this time to the Safety <br />Director. <br />(g) Operation of an alarm system or failure to disconnect an <br />alarm system after revocation of the permit is in violation <br />of this Ordinance. • <br />559.10 DUTIES OF ALARNI SUBSCRIBERS OR USERS <br />(a) It shall be the responsibility of alarm subscribers or <br />users to instruct any employees or others who may have <br />occasion to activate an alarm that alarm systems are to be <br />activated only in emergency situations to summon an immediate <br />police response. Alarm subscribers and users shall also <br />instruct appropriate employees as to the operation of the <br />alarm system; to include setting, activation and resetting <br />of the alarm. <br />(b) Alarm subscribers and users shall be responsible for <br />seeing that alarm systems are rnaintained in good working <br />order and that defects which would cause false alarrns are <br />prornptly repaired. <br />(c) Subscribers or users of alarm systems who have not <br />contracted with an alarm dealer for an alarm agent to respond <br />to the scene of alarn activations shall indicate the <br />telephone numbers of at least two (2) responsible persons who <br />are capable of deactivation and resetting the alarm system <br />and of assisting the police to secure the premises, if <br />necessary, and who nay be notified by the North Olr:zsted <br />Police Department to respond to the scene. Such person or <br />persons shall respond to the scene within one-half (1/2) hour <br />after being requested to do so by the North Olmsted Police <br />Department, unless good cause is shown. <br />(d) No person shall install or maintain an alarm system <br />which does not have some safeguard which allows reasonable <br />delay to halt or recall an accidental alarm activation before <br />the alarm is communicated to the the North Olrnsted Police <br />Department for response to the scene, <br />559.11 GENERAL PROVISIOi1S <br />(a) All equipment used in installations for which a permit <br />is required shall meet the applicable standards of the <br />Underwriters Laboratories and/or other recognized industry <br />standards. Applicant may be required to submit evidence of <br />the reliability and suitability of the equipment to be <br />installed. <br />(b) The sensory mechanism used in connection with such <br />devices must be adjusted to suppress false indications of <br />intrusion, so that the devices will not be actuated by <br />impulses due to transient pressure change in water pipes,
