<br />_ Page 17 <br />24.8 Should the Fire Chief find it necessary to place an employee on a forty <br />(40) hour schedule for purposes of training or light duty, the employee <br />~ shall receive sufficient notice indicating the beginning and end of such <br />forty (40) hour schedule. <br />24.9 F]nployees shall have the right to exchange hours when, in the opinion of <br />the Shift Captain, such changes do not interfere with Fire Department <br />operations. All such changes are sub~ect to the approval of the Fire Chief <br />or his desigiee. No overtime shall be allowed and no additional cost is <br />to be incurred by the Dmployer due to such changes. <br />ARTICLE XXV <br />LIGHT TxFi'Y <br />25.1 If Light Duty is available, or at the Fire Chief's discretion, an gnployee <br />may be assigned Light Duty.. He shall first submit a request to the Fire <br />Chief with corroboration from the Flnployee's physician as to why and haw <br />long the D~loyee will be on Light Duty. For an ~loyee on Light Duty <br />to return to full duty status, the F~nployee must submit written permission <br />from his physician reinstating him. <br />25.2 Any ~nnployee assigned Light Duty shall continue to receive all <br />and fY~inge benefits, including aceturnzlation of Seniority attached of n~sion <br />normally assigned position. The assignment must be approved and defined <br />by the Fire Chief and return to full duty work can be mandated by a <br />pY~ysician selected by the L]nployer. <br />ARTICLE XXVI <br />26.1 Cadets shall receive $3.00 per Day for expenses while in attendance at a <br />state certified fire fighters training school as mandated by law. <br />26..2 Should a Cadet be required to travel round trip from N.O.F.D. #1 to <br />school, the F~nployer steal]. reimburse at the rate per mile established <br />from tame to time, unless the Cadet travels in an gaployer owned vehicle. <br />26.3 Should a Cadet be required to be away from his residence overnight for <br />such schooling the IIriployer shall .pay all costs for meals, housing and <br />transportation. <br />ARTICLE XXVII <br />COiIRT IEAVE <br />27.1 The F2~layer shall grant leave with the Basic Hourly-Rate of Pay plus <br />Lot~evity or Overtime Pay (as applicable) to an ~nplayee for the period <br />of time he is required to appear before a court, fudge, justice, magistrate <br />~_ or comer as a plaintiff, defendant or witness in matters directly <br />relating to his fob as an IInployee of the D~loyer. <br />
