<br />,, <br />Page 18 . <br />27.2 The Employer shall grant leave with the Basic Hourly Rate of Pay plus <br />Longevity to an Employee for the period of time he is required to appear <br />for fury duty. <br />ARTICLE XXVIII <br />CONTINUING EDUCATION <br />The bnployer shall provide continuing education for those Employees that. <br />are required to recertify in areas that require mandatory recertification <br />for the Employee to maintain employment. Cost for continuing education <br />shall be paid by the Employer and if said education requires the Employee <br />to attend classes above and beyond his Work Schedule, he shall be paid <br />Overtime Pay. The education maast be approved in advance by the Fire <br />Chief or his designee. <br />ARTICLE 7IXDC <br />DQUIPNN~.Tfr AND GEAR <br />The Employer shall furnish and maintain at no cost to the Employee all <br />gloves, helmets, protective clothing and other protective equipment <br />necessary to preserve and protect the safety and health of the Employee <br />as determined by the Fire Chief. <br /> <br />ARTICLE XX)C <br />CCN~IIJSAT~Y TIME <br />30.1 Each Employee shall have the right to convert Overtime homes into <br />Compensatory Time with the approval of the Fire Chief or his designee.. <br />30.2 Employees may have the right to take Compensatory Time when the time off <br />does not. interfere with the operation of the Fire Department. The taking <br />off of such Ca~ensatory Time shall be sub3ect to the approval of the Fire <br />Chief or his designee. Overtime shall be converted to Compensatory Time <br />ax the current rate of pay plus Longevity equal to one and one~alf hours <br />per hour converted. <br />30.3 In case of death of an Employee, arty payment shall be made to the Employee's <br />legal beneficiaries. <br /> <br />
