EXHIBIT B-7 cont. <br />MAINTENANCE MECHANIC <br />Does limited skilled work with latches, drill presses, and other <br />precision machining devices; and does incidental carpentry, <br />painting, masonry and cement work. <br />Subject to 24-hour call during emergency situations. <br />Performs related work as required. <br />Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills <br />Knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and <br />materials of the mechanical trades. <br />Knowledge of mechanical principles and of equipment and machinery <br />used in pumping and treatment of wastewater. <br />Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of <br />the work. <br />Knowledge of the general methods and related electrical, <br />carpentry, and plumbing repairs and skill in making general <br />maintenance repairs. <br />Ability to perform skilled mechanical tasks of a routine nature <br />with considerable independence. <br />Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship <br />with employees and the general public. <br />Ability to work from sketches or blueprints and to understand and <br />effectively carry out oral and written instructions. <br />Skill in the use of bench and hand tools; machines and equipment <br />of the mechanical trades. <br />Mechanical aptitude and good general intelligence. <br />Desirable Experience and Traininc <br />Experience in mechanical repair work with machinery, equipment, <br />and apparatus related to the area of assignment; graduation from <br />a standard high school or vocational school including or supple- <br />mented by approved course work in shop practices or one of the <br />mechanical trades. <br />61 <br />_,, <br />
