l the grievance void. Time limits, except for origin- <br />sting a grievance, may be mutually waived, in writing, <br />by the employee or Negotiating Committee and management. <br />4. A grievance may be referred to the superior next <br />highest in the chain of command, should an immediate <br />superior be predictable absent from duty for five (5) <br />consecutive days. <br />E. Steps. <br />1. The aggrieved employee shall meet with his immediate <br />supervisor within the prescribed time limits, and orally <br />discuss the grievance. The immediate supervisor shall <br />make a decision and orally communicate this decision to <br />the aggrieved employee within seven (7) working days <br />from the initial presentation of the grievance. Every <br />effort shall be made by the employee and the immediate <br />supervisor to resolve the grievance at this level. <br />2. If the ;grievance is not resolved at Step 1, the <br />aggrieved employee shall submit a written grievance to <br />the employee's immediate supervisor within seven (7) <br />working days following the supervisor's oral response. <br />The written grievance at this step, and all steps there- <br />after, shall contain the following information: <br />a. a statement of the grievance; <br />-15- <br />
