~ ~ mediate supervisor's written response. The Chief of Police <br />shall respond in writing to this grievance within seven (7) <br />days of its receipt. <br />5. If the grievance is not resolved at Step 4, the <br />aggrieved employee shall submit a written grievance to the <br />Safety Director within seven (7) working days following the <br />Chief's written response. The Safety Director shall respond <br />in writing to this grievance xithin seven {7) working days <br />of its receipt. The requirements in Steps 2 through 5 for <br />written grievances and responses shall not preclude the <br />aggrieved employee or the Negotiating Committee and the <br />appropriate management representative from orally discussing <br />and resolving the grievance. <br />6. If the grievance has not been resolved at Step 5, the <br />aggrieved employee shall submit a written grievance to the <br />Mayor within seven (7) working days following the Safety <br />Director's written response. The Mayor, or his designated <br />representative, shall reply in writing within ten (10) <br />working days thereafter,~and that decision shall be final <br />and binding. <br />F. Working Days. For the purpose of counting time, <br />"working days" as used in this ordinance will not include scheduled days <br />off, approved leaves or holidays. <br />J <br />-18- <br />
