The immediate supervisor shall meet <br />with the empl.oyee or the employee and the steward within <br />three (3) working days. The supervisor shall give an answer <br />Yn writinq to the participants involved in the initial <br />ineeting within two (2) working days following the date of <br />the grievance discussion. <br />Step 2: Yf the employee's grievance is not satisfactorily <br />settled at Step 1, the qrievance shall be submitted ta the <br />Department Director withiri five (5) working days after the <br />step 1 answer. The Director and/or his designee <br />representative or representatives sha1l meet the Local Union <br />President, the steward or his designee within five (5) <br />working days after the grievance has been filed with the <br />nirnatar, and the City's representative shall answer the <br />grievance in writing withi.n four (4) working days folZawing <br />c.ompIetiori of thp Steg 7 discussions. <br />Step 3: Z'he Union may appeal the grievance to the Mayor ar <br />his/her da_sicjnatod rpprpnentatives by qiving his/her notice <br />in writing within seven (7) working days fol.lawing receipt <br />of the Step 2 answe.r. ThP Mayar, together with snch <br />representatives as the Mayor deems appropriate, shall meet <br />at a mutually agreed satisfactory time with the LoK--al Union <br />Grievance Gommittee and the grievant to aonsider the <br />gXievance withiri tert (10) workinq days fol.lawing reeeipt af <br />the appeaX. A represantative of Ohio Council 8 may <br />participatQ in any Euah meeting. The Mayor wi.ll answsr thc <br />grievance in writing within five (5) working days following <br />completion trf the Step 3 discuuyians. <br />All Step 2 or 3 meetinqs under the grievance procedure shall be <br />scheduled during the last forty-five (45) minutes o£ the work day <br />un1.e5b otherwise mutually agreed to by thc partian. <br />Step 4: If the grievance is not satisfaotorily settled at <br />Step 3, the Union may, within thirty (30) calendar days- <br />after receipt of the Step 3 answer submit the matter to <br />- 8 -
