<br />--•, Fifteen through twenty years - 5 calendar weeks <br />, Twenty-one years through infinity - 6 calendar weeks <br />Section 2. An employee shall become eligible for vacation <br />leave on his anniversary date and vacation leave shall be taken <br />by the employee within twelve (12) months thereafter. However, <br />so long as an employee uses at least five (5) uninterrupted days <br />of vacation each year, the employee shall be permitted with prior <br />approval to carry over or to sell back any amount of vacation <br />;p <br />which does not exceed the amount earned in the prior year. <br />Section 3. If an employee is terminated (voluntarily or <br />involuntarily) prior to taking his vacation and has completed one <br />(1) year of employment with the City, he shall receive the pro- <br />rated portion of any accrued but unused vacation at the time of <br />separation. In case of death of an employee, the unused vacation <br />leave shall be paid to the estate. <br />(a) If a day recognized as a holiday by the terms <br />of this Agreement falls within an employee's <br />vacation leave, the employee shall not be <br />credited with a vacation day and will be paid <br />for the holiday at the straight time rate. <br />(b) An employee may have the option of using <br />personal days as days of extended vacation with <br />prior approval of his department head. <br />(c) An employee may have the option-of using all but one <br />week of his vacation in increments of less than one <br />week; for example, one or two days at a time.
