4.2. Any newly hired employees in the bargaining unit shall, within sixty (60) days of <br />date of employment, either elect to become members of the F.O.P. or remit the fair share fee. As <br />provided in Ohio Revised Code Section 4117.09(C), nothing in this Article shall be deemed to <br />require any employee to become.a member of the F:O.P. <br />4.3. The Employer agrees to deduct F.O.P, dues and fees from any member of the <br />bargaining unit who provides written authorization for a payroll dues and fees deduction. The <br />F.O.P. shall indemnify the City and hold it harmless against any and all claims, demands, suits or <br />other liability that may arise by reason of any action of the City in complying with the provisions <br />of this Article. <br />ARTICLE 5 <br />WORK WEEK/SCHEDULED HOURS <br />5.1. For purposes of this Agreement, a work day is defined as a continuous eight (8) <br />hour period in any twenty-four (24) hour period and a work week is defined as forty (40) hours. <br />5.2. Compensation for regularly scheduled eight (8) hour days shall be at the straight- <br />time rate of pay. <br />ARTICLE 6 <br />OVERTIME/EXTRA DUTY/CALL OUT <br />6.1 All full-time employees, with the exception of the Chief shall be paid one and one <br />half (1-1/2) times their regular rate of p ay for all hours required to be worked in excess of the <br />work day or week as defined in Section 5.1. <br />6.2.
