City of North Olmsted Ordinance No. 94-102 <br />page 2 <br />(2) The Director shall establish a uniform system of maintaining accurate <br />records for all employees dealing with the use and accumulation of sick <br />leave, vacation time and personal holidays. He shall communicate such <br />information from time to time as is deemed appropriate by the Director <br />of Finance for purposes of reporting such information to the employees <br />on the employee's pay stub. <br />(3) The Director shall be responsible for the administration and <br />coordination of all employee benefits for all departments within the <br />City. <br />(4) The Director shall be responsible for maintaining all records for the <br />processing of claims for Workers' Compensation and unemployment <br />compensation. He shall, when it is appropriate, appear before the State <br />agencies responsible for Workers' Compensation and unemployment <br />compensation, representing the City's interest relative to claims made <br />for unemployment and Workers' Compensation. <br />(b) Equal Employment Opnortunit,~ The Director shall be responsible for <br />maintaining any and all records with respect to the compliance by all <br />departments regarding both employment and contracts with the City with equal <br />employment opportunity requirements of both the State and Federal <br />Government. <br />(c) Affirmative Action Policies. The Director shall be responsible for continually <br />monitoring, revising and enforcing the City's affirmative action policies. As <br />such, he shall be considered to be the Affirmative Action Coordinator of the <br />City and shall carry out all of the policies established therein. <br />(d) Insurance <br />(1) The Director shall maintain in his office the master copy of all <br />insurance policies maintained by the City, including but not limited to, <br />fire, casualty, hospitalization and life insurance, as well as other <br />coverages which may from time to time be obtained by the City. <br />(2) The Director shall be responsible for administering the self-insurance <br />portion of all policies obtained by the City which requires the City to <br />pay all losses occurring under a certain deductible amount. In that <br />regard, he shall maintain a file on all potential losses which are <br />reported to the City and shall be responsible for investigating those <br />losses and reporting the same to the insurance carriers of the City. He <br />shall also cooperate with the Law Department for purposes of settling <br />claims against the City that are within the deductible portion of the <br />City's policy. He shall, from time to time, appear in court if necessary <br />to aid the Law Department in defending the City against claims which <br />fall within the deductible portion of the City's insurance policies. <br />
