<br />(c) "Private dance", as used herein, means any dance held at any single family home in the City, or any <br />dance given by permanently organized clubs, fraternal organizations, societies or corporations, where the <br />attendance is restricted to the members of the club, organization, society, or corporation, or the guests of the club, <br />organization, society or corporation are admitted by individual invitation only, and from which guests no fee, <br />payment or token of any kind is or will be received, and no lease payment or rental has been or will be received. <br />(d) "Teen dance" as used herein means any dance or like event which is marked or promoted for, or <br />otherwise directed toward "teens" or any age croup that includes "teens," as defined in this Section and to which <br />admission may be had by payment of a fee or by the purchase, presentation or possession of a ticket; or in which a <br />charge is made for caring for clothing or other property; or where a permanently organized society, club, firm, <br />organization, corporation, or person, rents or collects a fee for the use of any room, place or space; or any other <br />dance or like event to which teens may gain admission with or without payment of a fee. "Teen dances" do not <br />include "Private dances" as defined above. <br />(e) "Teen dance club", as used in this section, means any room, place or space in which a teen dance is <br />held. <br />(~ "Supervising Adult and/or Chaperon" as used in this section, means an individual twenty-one years of <br />age or older, who has been listed on the license application referred to in Section 763.04, and who will be <br />responsible for and present during the dance or like event. <br />(g) "Teen", as used in this section, means any individual under the age of eighteen. <br />763.03 PUBLIC DANCE HALLS; NO LICENSE REQUIRED. <br />(a) Owners and Operators of Public Dance Halls shall not be required to obtain licenses to operate Public <br />Dance Halls, but, in the operation of such Public Dance Halls, must comply with all provisions of this Chapter made <br />specifically applicable to Public Dance Halls, and all other applicable laws and ordinances of the State of Ohio and <br />the City of North Olmsted. <br />(b) No person under the age of 18 years shall be permitted to enter or remain in a Public Dance Hall unless <br />he or she is an emplovee of the Public Dance Hall or is accompanied by a parent, other legal guardian, or a <br />suitable adult person. <br />(c) No Owner and Operator of a Public Dance Hall shall knowingly permit a person under the age of 18 <br />years to enter or remain in a Public Dance Hall unless he or she is an emplovee of the Public Dance Hall or is <br />accompanied by a parent, other legal guardian, or suitable adult person. <br />(d) Every Owner and Operator of a Public Dance Hall shall post a conspicuous sign at each entrance to the <br />Dance Hall that reads: "It is a violation of Section 763.03 of the North Olmsted Codified Ordinances for any pcr~on <br />under the age of 18 years and not an emplovee of this establishment to enter or remain at this location without a <br />parent, guardian or suitable adult person." <br />763.04 TEEN DANCE CLUBS; LICENSE REQUIRED. <br />No person, society, club, firm, organization, corporation, or other legal entity, unless specifically exempted <br />herein, shall hold any teen dance unless the teen dance club in which the same maybe held has first been duly <br />licensed for such purpose. Failure on the part of any person or persons to obtain such license or to comply with the <br />foregoing shall subject him or them to the penalties and other remedies provided for in this Chapter. <br />763.05 EXEMPTIONS FROM LICENSE REQUIREMENT. <br />The licensing requirement of Section 763.04 does not apply to the following places and/or organizations: <br />(a) a residence located in a single family district from which the general public is excluded; <br />(b) a place owned by the federal, state, or local government; <br />(c) a public or private elementary school, secondary school, college, or university; <br />(d) a place owned by a religious organization; <br />4 <br />
