and at least once in each three (3) month period. <br />If it believes that an employee is developing an <br />attendance problem, it will notify the employee <br />in writing that medical evidence will be required <br />for absences of three (3) days or less. When the <br />employee's record becomes satisfactory, the re- <br />quirement for such medical evidence for short <br />term absences will be removed, and the employee will <br />be notified in writing. <br />(d) Employees may use, when necessary, up to five (5) <br />days of earned and accumulated sick leave for the <br />purpose of attending the funeral of a member of <br />their immediate family. The term "immediate family" <br />for purposes of this subsection shall mean:' parents, <br />parents of spouse, spouse, children of the employee, <br />brother, sister, brother of spouse, sister of spouse, <br />grandparent, grandchild, as well as relatives living <br />in the employee's home. <br />(e) Employees may use up to fifteen (15) work days per <br />year of earned and accumulated sick leave if necessi- <br />tated by illness in the employee's immediate family. For <br />purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" shall <br />be interpreted to be spouse, parents of the employee, <br />regardless of place of residence, and other relatives <br />-21- <br /> <br />
