<br />LABORER (Cont.) <br />Desirable Knowledge, Abilities and Skills <br />Considerable knowledge of tools, materials, methods,-and modern tech- <br />niques commonly used in public works and utility construction and main- <br />tenance activities. <br />Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions necessary in <br />construction and maintenance work. <br />Ability to participate in the work of maintenance and performing varied <br />tasks and to obtain effective results. <br />Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with <br />employees and the general public. <br />Physical strength and agility sufficient to do strenuous manual labor <br />for extended periods under varying weather conditions. <br />Desirable Experience and Training <br />Considerable experience in performing construction, maintenance and <br />laboring tasks; graduation from a standard high school or vocational school. <br /> <br />-167- <br />
