CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE 77- ~jf, Page 2 of the straight time rate for all hours in excess of 8 hours per day, and also, time and one-half of their straight time rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in any one work week. However, under no circumstances shall there be a pyramiding of overtime. It should also be noted that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall determine the manner and method o.f assigning and offering all overtime work which is consistent with efficient transit practices. SECTION 3: The normal work week for regular full time salaried employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall be forty hours. Said work week shall commence at 12:01 AM Sunday through 12:00 midnight Saturday. It is recognized that the bus line shall be maintained on a schedule compatible with efficient and practical transit service seven days a week. Therefore it is further recognized that the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line retains the right to manage and direct the work force as well as the right to determine the manner and method of assigning work. Salaried employees may be paid overtime upon recommendation o.f department heads and approval of the appointing authority, at the time and one-half hourly rate, provided, however, that in no such instance shall daily and weekly overtime be duplicated. All such salaried employees who work in excess of the ap- plicable and appropriate basic work week hours shall be paid for such excess time worked at his or her time and one-half hourly rate in addition to his or her salary, provided that such overtime is authorized by the employee's superior.: In the computation of weekly overtime, recognized holidays shall be considered as time worked to the extent of the normal regular hours called for, except where the holiday coincides with the scheduled day off of the employee. SECTION 4: That there is hereby established longevity benefits for all full time employees, both administrative and maintenance, of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, which shall be as follows: a. Effective August 1, 1976 through and including October 2, 1976 all full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line having completed 5 years of full time continuous service as employees of said bus line or having been transferred from some other depart- ment by administrative appointment shall be paid an additional 3% of their base annual salary until they have completed their tenth year of continuous full time service. After completing their tenth year and prior to completion of their fifteenth year of continuous full time service, they shall be paid 4~ of their base annual salary. After completion of their fifteenth year of continuous full time service and prior to completion of their twentieth year of continuous full time service, they shall be paid 5~ of their base annual salary. After they have completed twenty years of continuous service, they shall be paid 5~ of their base annual salary. These payments shall be longevity increments and shall be paid and computed by the Finance Department of the City of North Olmsted. In computing length of service for the purpose of making pay- ments of longevity increments as hereinabove set forth, no credit shall be given for part time service, but such limitation is only for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion for part time service shall not deprive any employee of any other benefits which may be due them for part time service as employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. b. Effective October 3, 1976 and thereafter, the following longevity benefits shall be paid to all full time employees except administrative personnel with the first of such payments to be made in December, 1977, subject to the approval of the Regional Transit Authority:
