CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE 77- ~jf, <br />Page 2 <br />of the straight time rate for all hours in excess of 8 hours <br />per day, and also, time and one-half of their straight time <br />rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in any one <br />work week. However, under no circumstances shall there be a <br />pyramiding of overtime. It should also be noted that the <br />North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line shall determine the manner <br />and method o.f assigning and offering all overtime work which <br />is consistent with efficient transit practices. <br />SECTION 3: The normal work week for regular full time <br />salaried employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line <br />shall be forty hours. Said work week shall commence at 12:01 <br />AM Sunday through 12:00 midnight Saturday. It is recognized <br />that the bus line shall be maintained on a schedule compatible <br />with efficient and practical transit service seven days a <br />week. Therefore it is further recognized that the North Olmsted <br />Municipal Bus Line retains the right to manage and direct the <br />work force as well as the right to determine the manner and <br />method of assigning work. Salaried employees may be paid <br />overtime upon recommendation o.f department heads and approval <br />of the appointing authority, at the time and one-half hourly <br />rate, provided, however, that in no such instance shall daily <br />and weekly overtime be duplicated. <br />All such salaried employees who work in excess of the ap- <br />plicable and appropriate basic work week hours shall be paid <br />for such excess time worked at his or her time and one-half <br />hourly rate in addition to his or her salary, provided that <br />such overtime is authorized by the employee's superior.: <br />In the computation of weekly overtime, recognized holidays <br />shall be considered as time worked to the extent of the normal <br />regular hours called for, except where the holiday coincides <br />with the scheduled day off of the employee. <br />SECTION 4: That there is hereby established longevity benefits <br />for all full time employees, both administrative and maintenance, <br />of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line, which shall be as follows: <br />a. Effective August 1, 1976 through and including October 2, 1976 <br />all full time employees of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line <br />having completed 5 years of full time continuous service as employees <br />of said bus line or having been transferred from some other depart- <br />ment by administrative appointment shall be paid an additional <br />3% of their base annual salary until they have completed their <br />tenth year of continuous full time service. After completing <br />their tenth year and prior to completion of their fifteenth year <br />of continuous full time service, they shall be paid 4~ of their <br />base annual salary. After completion of their fifteenth year of <br />continuous full time service and prior to completion of their <br />twentieth year of continuous full time service, they shall be <br />paid 5~ of their base annual salary. After they have completed <br />twenty years of continuous service, they shall be paid 5~ of their <br />base annual salary. These payments shall be longevity increments <br />and shall be paid and computed by the Finance Department of the <br />City of North Olmsted. <br />In computing length of service for the purpose of making pay- <br />ments of longevity increments as hereinabove set forth, no credit <br />shall be given for part time service, but such limitation is only <br />for the purpose of computing longevity increments and the exclusion <br />for part time service shall not deprive any employee of any other <br />benefits which may be due them for part time service as employees <br />of the North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line. <br />b. Effective October 3, 1976 and thereafter, the following <br />longevity benefits shall be paid to all full time employees <br />except administrative personnel with the first of such payments <br />to be made in December, 1977, subject to the approval of the <br />Regional Transit Authority: <br />
