CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE N0. 79-139 <br />PAGE 9. <br />Major dz•ainage ditches passing through the pro- <br />posed subdivision shall be improved as necessary. <br />If a ditch is relocated, a plan shall be submitted <br />for approval. Al1 ditches passing through a pro- <br />posed subdivision for which the Ctiy Engineer <br />determines the culvert size to be 54 inch diameter <br />circular pipe or equivalent, or less, s}lall be <br />completely culverted tlirough the subdivision. For <br />pipe sizes between 54" and 72" inclusive, the developer <br />shall negotiate with the City for installation of <br />same. bitches requiring in excess of 72" culvert <br />may remain open, but Council, upon the advice of <br />the City Engineer, is hereby empowered to reauire <br />said ditches to be fericed with a fence approved by <br />ihe City Engineer, ancl nroviding that a minimum <br />right-of-way of fifty feet (50`) is provided ror <br />service to said ditch. Ditch banks shall be on <br />a minimum two (2) horizontal to one (1) vertical <br />slope and deeded. No relocated ditch bank shall <br />be closer thari teri feet (10`) to adjoining property. <br />(3) Water mains and appurtenances shall be <br />constructed in accordance with the standards and <br />specifications of the City of Cleveland Water <br />Department. <br />(C) Electrical Requirements. <br />(1) The preliminary plat or sketch plan with <br />respect to any new subdivision shall be submitted <br />to a11 utility companies serving the subdivision, <br />as well as the Building Commissioner and City <br />Engineer, or the City of North Olmsted. <br />(Z) Utility easements ten f_eet (101) in width for <br />communication and electric power and street iight- <br />ing distribution lines and facilities shall be <br />provided on all front lot lines and along certain <br />side or rear lot lines where necessary. <br />(3) Prior to granting final apnroval, the sub- <br />divider shall have installed or shall have furnished <br />adequate bond for the ultimate installation in <br />accordance with the requirements of this Ordinance <br />(No. 64-95 - "Platting Ordinance"), and Ordinance <br />No. 72-192 (Codified Ordinance No. 1357) "National <br />Electrical Code", latest edition adopted by the <br />State of Ohio, and all subsequent amendments thereto <br />pertaining to the following: <br />(a) tJnderground communication cables. <br />(b) iTnderground distribution cables for <br />nower and street lighting from a coriimon <br />distributiori system, and the equipmerit <br />and hnusing necessarY in the operation <br />of the distribution system. <br />(c) Adequate provisions for street illumination <br />lamps and standards in accordance with the de- <br />sign approved by Council. <br />The subdivider shall bear the increase in <br />costs, if any, over the iiormal inode of <br />construction of communication or electrical <br />lines and facilities, as determined by the <br />telephone or electric company involved in <br />accordance with the rules and regulations <br />of the telephone or electric company involved.
