"Sick Leave" is to be accumulative by the employee <br />and is only to be paid upon furnishing documented <br />medical certification of his or her illness. <br />Sick Leave is Not To Be Used For Retirement Purposes, <br />As For Example: <br />An Earlier Retirement <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />SECTION l: The "Sick Leave" policy for all full time employees <br />of the City o North Olmsted, exlcuding elected officials is hereby <br />established as follows: <br />A. Sick Leave Credit. <br />1. Accumulation of Credit. Sick Leave is earned in accordance <br />with t e state minimum requirement at the rate of one and <br />one-quarter (1-1/4) days per month of employment, or fifteen <br />(15) days per year. <br />2. Employees shall receive annual sick leave according to the <br />following formula: <br />Sick Leave Days Per Year - 1.25 x Months x Hours <br />8 <br />Sick Leave .days per year represent the eight-hour (8) days <br />accumulated; months represents the months worked per year; <br />hours represents the hours worked per day. <br />3. Any employee who transfers from one department within the City <br />to another shall be credited with the unused balance of sick <br />leave accumulated. This shall in no way be construed as <br />referring to any City of er t an ort mste . <br />B. Use of Sick Leave. <br />Employees may use sick leave for absence due to: <br />1. Personal illness, injury, or exposure to contagious disease <br />where quarantined by the Board of Health. <br />2. Illness in immediate family with a maximum fifteen (15) eight <br />(8) hour days per year. The term "immediate family" in case <br />of illness, shall be interpreted as meaning parents, parents <br />of spouse, and spouse, and children of the employee, regardless <br />of place of residence, as well as other relatives living in the <br />employee's home. <br /> <br />
