NOVEMBER 4, 1959 - PAGE 2. <br />In the absence of the Safety Director, the Service Director reported <br />53 permits were issued during the month of October by the Building <br />Department, with a total valuation of ~835f265.00. He also reported <br />62 calls were made by the Dog Warden for the month of October. <br />The Engineer reported he had inspected Maplehurstl Westlawn, and <br />Oakdale and recommended $161000.00 of the X20,000.00 cash bond of <br />McKenzie Park Development Company be released, and a $41000.00 balance <br />be reserved for inspection fees and for items to be corrected. <br />In regards to Holly Drive, he had made an inspection and submitted a <br />list of items which still required attention to the developer, and <br />recommended Council Committees make their inspections also for approval. <br />The Engineer also reported the petition for the paving of Decker Road. <br />is still deficient of signatures, and that the Planning Commission <br />had approved re-subdivision of nine lots in Olmsted Colony Subdivision <br />No. 2, and recommended Council's approval of the plat. <br />Mrs. Merker, Secretary of McKenzie Park Development Company appeared <br />before Council relative to the release of the sash bond. She is <br />willing to go along with the release of $16,000.00 and present an <br />affidavit releasing Advance Paving of all claims. It was moved by <br />Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Kramer, the amount of $16,000.00 be <br />released upon receipt of the General Contractors Affidavit, subject <br />to the approval of the Solicitor as to form. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, <br />Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />In regards to the re-$ubdivision plat of Olmsted Colony No. 2, it was <br />moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr. MacDonald, that the rules of <br />Council be suspended for acceptance of the revised subdivision. "Yeas" <br />Hinkell Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill. "Nays" Hixson, Wilson. <br />It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mrs. Hinkel, the Solicitor <br />prepare the necessary legislation for acceptance of the revised sub- <br />division, and the Engineer is to retain custody of the linen. "Yeas" <br />Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, Wilson. <br />Mr. Hixson reported Committee considered Planning Commissions recommenda- <br />tion relative to the rezoning of Lorain Road from Bailey Road to Columbia <br />on the south side and from Canterbury to Columbia on the north side, <br />from multiple dwellings to business and establishing a limited use <br />district for the above proposed rezoned areas restricting the type <br />of business, and it was Committee's recommendation that due to the <br />uncertainty of the sewer situation, that this recommendation be <br />denied. It was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mr. MacDonald, the <br />request of the Planning Commission to consider rezoning of this area <br />be denied. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, <br />Wilson. <br />Ordinance No. 2924, employing the law firm of Squire, Sanders and <br />Dempsey as special counsel to assist the Solicitor in the proceedings <br />requisite for the authorization and issuance of bonds of the City for <br />the purpose of financing and construction of a sanitary sewerage plans <br />and sewerage lines, was given its third and final reading. It was <br />moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mr. Wilson, action be deferred until <br />a later date. "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, <br />Wilson. <br />Resolution No. 2827, authorizing the Safety Director to enter into a <br />mutual aid contract with Olmsted Township for mutual aid in fire <br />protection, was given its third and final reading, It was moved by <br />Mrs. Hinkel, seconded by Mr. MacDonald, the resolution be adopted as <br />read, "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, <br />Wilson, <br />Ordinance No. 2y32 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. An ordinance authorizing <br />the payment of $15.00 to Frank Kobric for property uamage occasioned <br />by police activity in apprehending a motorist, and declaring an emergency. <br />It was moved by Mr. Kramerl seconded by Mr. Wilson, that the statutory <br />rule be suspended and the ordinance be read immediately the second and <br />third times and put on its passage.
