<br />The Service ~7irector reported a negotiation meeting was held on October
<br />12th with the Committee of i3us Drivers, requesting a 10/ increase in
<br />wages. After discussion, it was recommended and approved to accept 11¢
<br />per hour, and May lst, 1960 open negotiations again. Tt was moved by
<br />Mr. ~~?ilson, seconded by Dirs. Minkel, the Solicitor prepare the necessary
<br />legislation for the increase, to be effective November lst, 1959, "Vans"

<br />Discussion ensued relative to pcssible savings in the Bus Departri,ent,
<br />wri.ch might be accomplished by a change in the Sunday run to the E~apid

<br />In the absence of the Safety Director, the Tiayor reported Patrolmian
<br />Lavender wus sworn in October 15th, 1959.
<br />A communication was read frcm Iir. Frank J. Kobric, 4822 Claque .Road,
<br />North Glmsted, regarding the damage inflicted to his home on September
<br />5th by stray bull~t~~, stating fifteen dollars would be a reasonable
<br />estimate for damages. Tt was moved by T.r. Nilson, seconded by Pr. Kramer,
<br />the Solicitor be directed to prepare the necessary legislation to pay the

<br />Ordinance IVo. 2930 was introduced by P~:r. U'Neill. An ordinance amending
<br />Section 1 of Ordinance 2585 enacted November 6, 1957, amending Section 1
<br />of Ordinance 2194 enacted August 16, 1955, entitled, "tn ordinance fixing;
<br />~ the compensation and vacation periods for the bus drivers of the North
<br />Olmsted Municipal Bus Lines and providing for t?~ie compensation of employees
<br />of the' Municipal Bus Garage and certain other employees ~f the Municipal
<br />.Sus Line beginning September 1, 1955, as amended by Ordinance 2376 enacted.
<br />Gctober 16, 1956 and Ordinance 2423 enacted January 1, 1957 and declar~.ng
<br />an emergency. It was moved by Mr. O';deil.:L, seconded by Tr. Kramer, that
<br />the statutory rule be suspended. and the ordinance be read immediately
<br />the second and third times 2nd put on its passage. The affirmative vote
<br />on said motion was as fellows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, NIacD6nald,

<br />contracted with the rionson-~~iilliams Ccrp., to repair damaged paving iri
<br />the I~'Iaria Lane circle and that the work will be completed by ~?ovember

<br />A communication was read from 3oss Ellis advising the formation of
<br />Sweetbrier Estates, for the pw°~;ose of purchasing all of the lots,
<br />paving the street a:rd putting in side~.aallrs in accordance with the
<br />engineer's specifications. Hannon ~ Jousak will pave between now and
<br />November 2nd and they have entered into a separa`e contract for Maria
<br />`'~"' Lane while t:he equipment is in North Olmsted.
<br />The petition for the undeveloped portion of Decker :egad was again presented
<br />to the `engineer for chack?_ng of signatures.
<br />Nr. N~acDcnald reported a. meeting was ~~eld vai.th Nr. i~ir.chen, North Clrristed
<br />estates and Zehman-~iiolf, relative to the construction of a paci_a.ge plant
<br />on a te,npor~sy basis. 'trey ~,Ti11 hold off until after election a.nd see
<br />what move will be made if the issue passes. Maplehurst, `u~!estlawn and
<br />Gakdale era now completed and t~~e engineer is to make the final inspection.
<br />?~lrs. IIinkel reported complaints have been received regarding the entrances
<br />to the drivewa~rs not having been completed. A preliminary ins~bection is
<br />to be m~.de. It is not ready for dedication.
