<br />Ordinance No. 2861 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. An ordinance amending
<br />Ordinance No. 2407, enacted December 4, 1956, being an ordinance creating
<br />positions of Recreation Director, Recreation Instructors, Playground
<br />helpers and other Recreation Personnel and fixing compensation therefor,
<br />and declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr.
<br />Hixson, that the statutory rule be suspended and the ordinance be read
<br />immediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The
<br />affirmative vote on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer,
<br />Lynch, O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon the ordinance was read the second
<br />and third times and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon
<br />was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Resolution No. 2862 was introduced by Mr. O'Neill, A resolution appointing
<br />Patrick A. Gareau, Assistant City Solicitor, effective June 16, 195,9, and
<br />declaring an emergency. It was moved by Mr. O'Neill, seconded by Mrs.
<br />Hinkel, that the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read
<br />immediately the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirma-
<br />tive note on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch,
<br />O'Neill, Wilson. Thereupon the resolution was read the second and third
<br />times and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as
<br />follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, G'Neill, Wilson.
<br />Ordinance No. 2857, regulating and fixing the price at which the East
<br />Ohio Gas Company shall be required to furnish natural gas to the City,
<br />was given its second reading.
<br />Resolution No. 2858, adopting the Rules and Regulations for the Fire
<br />Department of the City of Narth Olmsted, was given its second reading,
<br />It was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, that the statutory
<br />provisions, Rule 43, and Rule 41 of the Rules of Council be suspended.

<br />Resolution No. 2863 was introduced by Mr. Hixson. A resolution directing
<br />the Auditor to negotiate with the National City Bank for the purpose of
<br />obtaining extensions of time for the payment of notes: Decker paving
<br />note dated October 31, 1957, Decker Sewer dated December 30, 1957, Fitch
<br />sidewalk dated October 31, 1957, and the sanitary sewer note dated June
<br />25, 1958, of the City of North Olmsted due said bank, and declaring an
<br />emergency. It was moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by Mrs. Lynch, that
<br />the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immediately
<br />the second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote
<br />on said motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, O'Neill,
<br />Wilson. Thereupon the resolution was read the second and third times
<br />and put on its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows:

<br />The Solicitor recommended plans for the new structures be submitted to
<br />the State of Ohio; notes be issued instead of bonds, and when the actual
<br />costs have been determined, then issue bonds. The Police and F'ie Pension
<br />Funds will purchase these bonds. The notes could be sold to the Funds,
<br />and when the bonds are issued, the notes could be picked up. He also
<br />recommended consideration be given as to the type of structure, fire-proof
<br />or non-fire-proof, and that especially, the addition to the Police Station
<br />be made fire proof as it is a requirement of the State.
<br />The Engineer stated he, the architect, and the Planning Commission had
<br />approved the plans, the buildings are to be fire-proof buildings, and
<br />that the plans will be sent to the State Building Department.
<br />It was moved by Mr. Wilson, seconded by Mrs. Hinkel, the Solicitor draw
<br />up legislation to read "$35,000.00 in notes for the erection of the
<br />service garage and the addition to the Police Station for a jail, the
<br />buildings be fire-proof buildings, and the plans to be properly signed
<br />by a registered architect and our Engineer". "Yeas" Hinkel, Hixson,
<br />Kramer, Lynch, O'Neill, Wilson.
<br />The Solicitor stated he had filed a motion for a new trial on Suburbanite
<br />Homes. It was moved by Mr. tivilson, seconded by Mr. Hixson, that the
