JUNE 3, 1958 - PAGE 2. <br />Mr. Wilson stated his objections to the hospital levy being placed on the <br />ballot, inasmuch as he felt the money could be used to th.e betterment of <br />the City for purposes beneficial to the majority of the residents. <br />Mx. Hinkel also stated his objections to the hospital levy, as he felt the <br />operating levy, the sewer levy, and the pwnper for the Fire Department were <br />sufficient issues on the ballot. <br />Mr. Bemer, of 24357 Maria Lane advised Monson-Williams had slagged the road <br />but it did not improve the condition of it, as Monson-j^tlliams had promised <br />to pave it. The City has a bond i.n the amount of ~30,OOG.00 for this road. <br />Mr. Henry Caster, President of Community Council. appealec! to Council that <br />the hospital levy be placed on the ballot for revaluation and consideration <br />by residents of North Olmsted again this Fall. <br />Mr. Harvey Levy also appealed to Council, stating residents should have a <br />right to vote on the hospital issue, to give the hospital. support, and the <br />opportunity to vote on such an issue. <br />The Solicitor stated he had received a call from Mr. McClelland on behalf <br />of the Board to have a representative address Council to give them further <br />information regarding the Community Hospital. A representative is to be <br />invited to attend the next meeting of Council, June 17th, 1958. <br />Resolution No. 2701 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. A resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor to enter into a contract with the Community Hospital of Berea, Ohio <br />in accordance with the Revised Code of the State of Ohio. The resolution was <br />given its first reading only. <br />Resolution No. 2702 was introduced by Mr. MacDonald. A resolution transferring <br />appropriations. It was moved by Mr. MacDonald, seconded by Mr. Wilson, that <br />the statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be re<~.d immediately the <br />second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said <br />motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, <br />~rJilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the second and third times and <br />put upon its passage and the affirmative vote thereon was as follows: Hinkel, <br />Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, 4ti~ilson. <br />Resolution No. 2703 was introduced by Mr. Kramer. A resolution authorizing <br />contract for care of prisoners sent to the County Jail by the City of North <br />Olmsted. It was moved by Mr. Kramer, seconded by Mr. MacDonald, that the <br />statutory rule be suspended and the resolution be read immediately the <br />second and third times and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said <br />motion was as follows: Hinkel, Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, <br />Wilson. Thereupon, the resolution was read the second and third times and <br />put upon its passage and the affirmative vote thereon ~,ras as follows: Hinkel, <br />Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, MacDonald, O'Neill, ti~lilson. <br />Ordinance No. 2690, nixing the duties and compensation of the City Engineer., <br />was given its third and final reading. It was moved by Mr. Hinkel, seconded <br />by Mr. Tr~xilson, the resolution be adopted as read. A resolution accepting <br />- the bid for labor and material for the improvement of Lessner Road from <br />Lorain Road to ti+'al.ter Road by constructing and installing therein a five <br />foot concrete public sidewalk on both sides thereof. It was moved bar Mr. <br />Hixson, seconded b`rl~ir. Wilson, that the statutory z^ale be suspended and the <br />resolution be read immediately the second and third times and put on its <br />passage.
