<br />Sgt. Hird, Dog t~(arden, requested some type of transportation to pick up
<br />stray dogs, and the Safety Committee is to meet with the Finance Committee
<br />to determine if there are sufficient funds to buy equipment for the Dog
<br />'vlarden.
<br />The Building Department requested changes in construction rates to conform
<br />to surrounding communities, and also registration of all contractors.
<br />It was moved by r. Hinkel, seconded by I~Ir. P~ia,cDonald, Allandale Drive be
<br />changed to Allandale East and Allandale West, and the Solicitor is to

<br />Mr. '~tilson received a request toep~~i~CB 35 mile speed limit on Columbia Road.
<br />t~estlake will also enforce the limit. It was turned over to the Safety
<br />Committee for consideration.
<br />Mr. MacDonald advised he had met with P~Zr. Dean and ~r. Kuhn, and it was
<br />determined the sanitary sewer would go down the East side of Dover Road.
<br />Mr. MacDonald also advised the residents of Gladland are concerned as to
<br />whether or not they had to pay for blacktopping the road. Inasmuch as they
<br />had never been assessed, it is permissible to assess once and the City is
<br />not obligated to do this without an assessment and recommended the residents
<br />peti.ta_tion for the improvement.
<br />P~~r. .~acDonald also reported that at a combined meeting of the Utilities and
<br />Sewer Committees, it was agreed that sanitary sewers should become a part of
<br />our ordinance for improvements along with sidewalks, streets, and storm sewer.
<br />Three tentative dates were recommended for progress reports to the residents
<br />of the City as follows: Niay 27th, August 12th, and October 28th, 1958. A
<br />representative from r'loyd Browne ~c Associates or the ~~later Pollution Control
<br />Board. :gill be present to answer questions.
<br />The Building Commissioner reported permits in the amount of X715.30 for the
<br />month of March, and estimated construction value in the amount of R'~469,000.00.
<br />The Building Commissioner requested another part-time inspector. There is
<br />a definite need for another inspector in the plumbing field with the new
<br />shopping center and proposed schools. The increased permit fees would offset
<br />this expense.
<br />4 communication from Kyle Insurance Agency was read advising a reduction of
<br />rates for liability and commending the drivers of the City equipment.
<br />It was moved by ~~Ir. Hinkel, seconded by Mr. MacDonald a Resolution commending
<br />the employees and drivers of City equipment be prepared by the Solicitor.

<br />Mr. Pennington, representing Parkland Estates again appeared before Council
<br />for the answer to his three problems and the recommendation of the joint
<br />Committees, Streets and Utilities, and the report was as follows:
<br />Existing ordinance to be upheld, streets 60' width, concrete
<br />instead of blacktop, and inasmuch as the existing ordinance makes
<br />no provisions for sanitary sewers at this tame, Committee could
<br />not require the developer to put in sanitary sewers. It was
<br />' moved by Mr. Hixson, seconded by PdIr. TacDonald, the report of the Committee
<br />be accepted. "Yeas" , Hixson, Kramer, Lynch, M.a.cDonald, O'Neill,

<br />Mr. John Wilson, 24080 Elm Road stated he would appreciate it if the City
<br />would fix Gladland, it being approximately only 370 feet in length. The
<br />Streets Committee, Engineer, and Service Director are to check this situation.
<br />Ordinance No. 2665 was introduced by Mr. Hinkel. An ordinance determining
<br />to proceed with improvement of Lessner Road from Lorain Road to Walter Road
<br />by constructing therein a five foot concrete public sidewalk on both sides
<br />thereof, and declaring an emergency. It was moved by I~Ir. Hinkel, seconded
